A detailed, in-depth breakdown of the March symposium activities can be found on the symposium schedule page.
If you wish to attend or obtain more information about the performances, please see the symposium performances page.
why
The purpose of this symposium is to provide a series of opportunities,
through the presentation of papers, performances and exhibitions, that might initiate new
dialogues on the views held by artists and theoreticians on the seemingly opposing paradigms
that have defined contemporary cultural and aesthetic values.
For this occasion these paradigms have been categorised as constituting either the cover version (the re-proposing of forms and values defined in an historical past) or the re-mix (the proposing of new combinations of forms and values, arrived at through a process of constant re-definition and re-invention).
Invited speakers and performers will address these ideas as they speak on their research practices, install exhibitions and present performances in various locations around Perth.
